Willem (Bill) DeLannoy
Born in the former Dutch East Indies, Bill’s parents were
Belgian-Indonesian and German descent. Bill’s “mother” tongue
is Dutch, and he speaks German, English and is familiar with Afrikaans,
French, Russian, Italian and Indonesian. As a Junior High Student,
Bill was sent to the Netherlands to complete his education. He
graduated from a Technical University with a B>S> in Mechanical
Engineering there. He also served two years as an officer in the Dutch
Army in a NATO contingent in West Germany.
He moved to California in 1960 under a special “Displaced Persons”
immigration quota. He became a US citizen in 1964 and worked in
several engineering He is a Registered Professional Engineer
in California and obtained a “Master of Science” degree in California.
He met and married Sharon DeLannoy in
1974. His interest and heart for missions began almost from the day of his
commitment of faith in Jesus Christ in 1977. He continues to have a
passion to see the name of Jesus made known in the world around him as
well as the world at large.
He began taking missions trips in 1983, to Poland (Eastern Europe), which
were followed by subsequent trips, eventually leading him to take his wife
and son, Chad, to live in Germany as full-time missionaries for 3 years
1986-89. His commitment was to take the concept of Small Groups ministry
to the suffering church behind the Iron Curtain. They implemented the
Colossians 2:7 format for lay people in Romania, E. Germany and Yugoslavia
and Poland. He has subsequently traveled to over 15 countries, on
missionary projects. He enjoys his grown children, and increasing
number of grandchildren, all special and uniquely created by God! |

He currently leads a men’s group called
“Influencers” in Prescott, attends another men’s bible study group
for business men, as well as supporting his wife of 33 years in her
ministries and work! He is very concerned and burdened over the
dilemma of the AIDS pandemic in Africa, and continues to be involved in
being a part of the solution as much as possible.
His life verse: Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your
heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways
acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight.
